Community Wide Parent Training

Special Info: This training is important for ALL parents to attend. If childcare is an issue in attendance please let us know the need and we will try to get some teen helpers.


Equipping 2026

ALL RACC parents are expected to attend the “Parent Training” (May 26th, 2026) and “Orientation Week” (August 4th). ALL parents are welcome to attend the “Learning to Love the Liberal Arts” training. However, Secondary Lead and Classroom Guides are expected to attend 1 of the 3 trainings, in addition to the final training (July 29, 2026). If there is a valid reason they cannot attend as they are expected it will be their responsibility to make sure they obtain the missed information by contacting the Lead Secondary Navigator.

Class: Parent Training

Theme: “Learning to Love the Liberal Arts”

Date: May 26, 2026

Instructors: Alesha Waller, Joyleigh Alkire, Jeanne Castle, Becky Ream

Class Details: This training is expected for ALL RACC parents. We will enjoy a meal together. Participants will be presented with an overview of Classical Christian Education, and parent expectations when joining our non-profit Raising Arrows Classical Co-Op. We will also be taking one topic and teaching through the Grammar, Logic, and Rhetorical phases of learning.



Class: “The Art of Language”

Date: June 15, 2026

Class Details: “Latin oh Latin how we love thee!” During this equipping session participants will learn the connections between English and Latin Grammar and how it all connects to the Liberal Arts! Each class will have a component where participants will get a chance to practice the rhetorical skills learned.

Class Details: “Music, Art & History O My!” During this equipping session participants will learn the connections between Music, Art & History. and how it all connects to the Liberal Arts! Each class will have a component where participants will get a chance to practice the rhetorical skills learned. 


Class: “The Art of Persuasion"

Class Details: “You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope... I have loved none but you.”  Jane Austen During this equipping session participants will learn  the connections between The Lost Tools of Writing, Lincoln-Douglass & Team-Policy Debates, The 5 Common Topics, Socratic Dialogue & Circles and how it all connects to the Liberal Arts! Each class will have a component where participants will get a chance to practice the rhetorical skills learned. 



Class: “The Art of Arithmetic & Astronomy"

Date:  July 27, 2026

Class Details: “...failure on the part of the teachers to connect Mathematics and Science instruction with wonder, wisdom, and worship will surely disappoint students who seek these…” The Liberal Arts Tradition. During this equipping session participants will learn  the connections between the study of mathematics and scientific inquiry and how it all connects to the Liberal Arts! Each class will have a component where participants will get a chance to practice the rhetorical skills learned. 

This class is expected for ALL Lead and Classroom Guides. After instruction we will be covering specific expectations for each level's upcoming Orientation Training on August 4, 2026. Guides will receive hard copies of their Compass and access to the google docs for their levels and have some time to meet specifically with their level guides
